DSa Scheme
Boosting the Audiovisual Sector
French Polynesia has introduced the DSA (Dynamisation du Secteur de l’Audiovisuel) scheme, a dedicated support system designed to attract major international productions and strengthen the local industry.
Key Benefits
No VAT on eligible goods and services strictly required for production (crew, transport, accommodation, technical services, post-production, etc.).
SPACE grant:
Covers 15% of eligible expenses, or 20% if local spending exceeds 200 million XPF (~1.82 M USD) and the project highlights Polynesian culture, heritage, or landscapes.
Capped at 100 million XPF per project (~910,000 USD).
Eligibility
Productions must generate at least 100 million XPF in local expenditure (~910,000 USD).
Applications are open to producers (executive, delegated, or co-producers) through a locally registered production company, established for at least three years and in good standing with tax and social obligations.
Approval is granted by the Council of Ministers, valid for 5 years and renewable once.
Commitments
Beneficiaries must acknowledge the support in their credits and promotional material, and provide footage or materials to the Government of French Polynesia for promotional use. Preference is given to first releases in French Polynesia, with reduced support if this requirement is not met.
How to Incentives
To benefit from French Polynesia’s unique incentive schemes, international producers must collaborate with a locally registered production company that meets the eligibility requirements.
You may either identify and contract directly with a qualified executive producer based in Tahiti, or simply reach out to the Tahiti Film Commission, which will guide you through the process and connect you with trusted local partners.
The application for approval, submitted by the executive co-producer, is reviewed by the Tahiti Film Commission within the Directorate General for the Digital Economy.
Approval is granted by order of the Council of Ministers after examination of:
- the economic interest of the project;
- its contribution to the development and diversification of the local audiovisual sector;
- its ability to promote Polynesian culture and heritage.
